Sirens sounding, horns honking…..
Beep, beep, beeeeeeeeeeeeep!
Honk, honk, honnnnnk!!
We pulled up to the Touch A Truck charity event, and could hear the cars and trucks blaring their warning sounds all over the parking lot. Welcome to a little boys dream, or as I was soon to discover a big daddy’s dream too – I guess boys never grow out of their love for cars, trucks and things that go!
This event was extra special for us since Grammy was in town visiting from Scotland. Together the twins, their dad, Grammy and I found all kinds of fun trucks to explore up close.
The boys climbed inside a bomb squad truck, a moving fan, all kinds of emergency vehicles and got to see what the world looked like from up high. That’s if they bothered to look out the window, they were so engrossed in steering the huge steering wheel and pushing all those enticing buttons.
When we asked the twins what their favorite truck was they both screamed “Fire Truck”. Uh oh, we might have two future firemen in the family! I think because the firemen were extra fun, and let the boys spray their huge water hose.
Being a fireman sure seemed fun!
The folks from the nature conservatory were also there displaying some really “cool” (although a little creepy) animal skins and taxidermy animals. The twins were extremely curious about the bear skin lying in the bear trap.
Daddy loved lifting the boys into the trucks but I liked getting in with them when they needed a little encouragement. I think girls like trucks, and cars and things that go too!
The morning ended with some delicious ice cream in the shade – a real Grammy treat, thanks Grammy!
But according to Cameron, the day ended too soon.
Not a happy chappy.
