Special treats on vacation, keep everyone happy….
Ice cream for breakfast:
Yup, you are looking at some very happy, spoilt boys
Why not I say?!?!? I think that holidays are the perfect time to mix things up, stray away from schedules and things you may be stricter about at home or during a school night. I think it’s healthy, and things like ice-cream for breakfast are the stuff memories are made of. I will never forget when Granny died and Mum went to Zimbabwe to get her estate in order. Dad was looking after us and I remember that we had a lots of take out (which for us during a school night was unheard of) and even had ice-cream (Vienetta ice cream cake) for starters before we had mains. Basically we ate and did things we’d never do with Mummy during the week. It was a very sad time for our family, but as a 6 year old kid it was an AMAZINGLY FANTASTIC week as it was filled to the brim with treats.
And that’s why holidays or vacations are so much fun – being a little more indulgent and relaxed, right? I wish I remembered that week – I probably don’t remember it because you probably tricked me out of half my treats!! 😉
Hey Sista. Dont spill all the beans.
LOL! She isn’t very good at keeping secrets Oupa!
One of my absolute favorite childhood memories was our last dinner coming home from vacation. We asked if we could have cake for dinner — joking, of course. And my dad said yes!!!!! I ordered a giant piece of chocolate cake with ice cream between the layers, covered in hot fudge and whipped cream. It was the best. dinner. ever!!!!!!!!!!! And it started a family tradition of order-whatever-you-want-for-the-last-meal-of-vacation. SOOO awesome!
That sounds like the best tradition EVER! I might have to adopt that one!
