We finally got the snow we were waiting for… it just arrived on Boxing day, which is what we call the day after Christmas in the UK and South Africa.
It took a zillion hours to get the boys appropriately dressed for our little jaunt in the snow. Snow pants over jeans, sweat shirt, hats, gloves, jacket, snow boots - phew!
The boys were excitedly pointing out of the window shouting “nose! nose!” They couldn’t wait to venture out and start experimenting with all this “nose” (or what the adults call “snow”).
The boys waddled in their unfamiliar garb, and plunked their feet gingerly in the snow.
We didn’t stay out long because it was freezing.
My only worry now is that when they wake up from their nap they will want to go play in the “nose” again! Because they sure had fun paying in that nose.

aww they are so adorable and look to be having lots of fuN!
Thanks – they did
Now I need to close all the curtains so they don’t beg me to go outside
So cute! Christopher has only had two “nose” experiences in 8 years. I understand now why my parents didn’t want us to go out again. Even though we weren’t dressed like snow bunnies, it was still a lot of trouble. I love these pictures. Hope all went well after the nap.
Thanks Kenya – they are still napping
LOOONG Nap = must have tired them out!
Your boys are absolutely precious! Nothing like it! I hope you enjoyed the snow as well! Fresh snow is always beautiful!
I agree – nothing nicer than when everything looks so fresh and white. Feels like Christmas all over again!
Awww! It looks like they had a great time in the “nose”.
My daughter loves going in it as well. Me. . . .not so much. Hope you guys had a great holiday!!!
The first snow is always the prettiest and it looks like your boys are really enjoying themselves. What cuties!
We call it Boxing Day here in Canada, too. Such adorable boys enjoying the nose!
I love these pictures. Hope they had a great time. We don’t have such “nose” fall here in India… we are truly missing those experiences.
Thanks Vadivu – they had soooo much fun! It was quite a big load of wet laundry to wash afterwards!
I remember as a child it snowed ONCE in South Africa- the first time I saw snow it was magical!
OMG I want to eat them up!!! My nephews look like 2 little Christmas presents I can “unwrap” !! By the way I think nose is a much better name for “snow”, did you manage to get Mason’s boots off him or did he go nap in them?
Mason loooves his boots but he did give them up for nap time
Oh. How happy they look. They do appear to enjoy the snow. Keep those curtains closed.
Enjoy the snow now while they’re young… when they get to be teens you might have to bribe them to go outside (to play with their little sister). Maybe that’s why we moved south!
LOL! I am sure I will be bribing for many things in the future!
