Surrounded by the boys, daddy sits on the couch and reads a book about things that go.
The boys point and name the cars, trains and planes, and daddy fills in the blanks. They get to the paper plane and I literally see the light bulb go off over Sean’s head.
Daddy closes the book and announces: “Let’s make paper airplanes!”
The boys excitedly agree although I bet they have no clue what they are agreeing to do – as long as it’s with daddy, then of course we are in!
Sean returns with the paper and gets to work folding the paper into a plane as he bats away little eager hands.
Wha La!
The first aircraft is ready for it’s maiden voyage. Mason decides he will pilot this one and throws it quickly directly up in the air, and it comes down just as quickly (thanks gravity).
OK even though that’s more like the flight plan of a rocket not a plane the joy is palpable in this photo…
Daddy shows Mason how it should be done, and then moves on to the next plane for his eager next pilot.
Cameron can hardly control his excitement as now he knows what to expect! A piece of paper, turned in to a REAL airplane!
What can be cooler than that?
This might quickly become a twin fav! And it was a quick and easy craft.

Oh that’s so awesome, they are so cute and happy. We played with a lot of paper airplanes when my twins were younger, they are now 13! Thanks for sharing your story and the awesome pics!
Oh my word what a fun filled day had by all with Daddy. Things are always better when Daddy does it ;0). I cant remember the last time I made a paper plane. Sometimes it’s the simplest things that work best. What AMAZING photos – such huge smiles and so many of them!!!
I agree Sista – keep it simple, involve the daddy and you have an instant hit!
LOVE!!! You caught the moment perfectly. Those smiles say it all!
Thanks Karen, they loved it!!
