As Snug as a Bug in a Rug! Can you feel the Love?

Merry Christmas to those of you who celebrated yesterday!

This one special gift took over 3 months to get to us. It was mailed from South Africa in September – arrived early November!

Talk about “snail mail”!

Anyway the package was opened yesterday and out came two gorgeous handmade blankets from the twins’ Grandfather and Laalie.

Well today we took our dog Carrie Bradshaw for a walk around the block. Mason decided he would take his new bike out for a spin – his new Lightning McQueen Big boy bike! Cameron decided to take out his old strider bike.

At first I tried to encourage Cam to take out his new bike too – but then I figured it would be hard enough with one kid on a big boy bike never mind two. Well the walk started out well enough, Mason was actually doing very well on his bike.

But it snowed last night and he kept wanting to ride in the snow. Well what happens when you get a 3 year old on his new bike and snow? You get a 3 year old face planted in the snow! Of course you do. Well that was the end of our short walk. For Mason anyway – I had to drag his bike, the dog and Cameron home, while Mason was upset about his wet cold hands.

Well that’s when the wonderful blankets come back into play – we finally made it home, I stripped off all the wet clothes and covered them in the warm soft blankets.

As snug as a bug in a rug.

As I write this, they are now so happy, all cozy and warm.

Thanks so much for our great blankets!

They can feel the homemade love.

    Those look so cozy! My Son got a blanket too—-trying to ween him from his tattered rag he carries around =}

  2. We got a handmade blanket, too! Boo has it on her bed and she loves it. Ours was crocheted in shades of blue and brown. Boo also did a face plant on her new scooter. Something in the air, maybe?

    How adorable! I need to get my nephews some of these blankets! thanks so much for sharing! Happy New Year!

  7. Hand made gifts are the very best! The boys look adorable in their warm snuggly blankets. I can just see Mason after that face plant in the snow, too. Not what he had planned, I’m sure!

    By the way, it’s warm and sunny here (comparatively)…. they should bring those bikes to NC to visit “Auntie Karen!”

    I LOVE the new blankets! You can see that a lot of love has gone into those, and all the way from South Africa, that really is very special. Poor Mason, but as Molly said it had a happy ending YAY!!!!!
